Wow another week has past! The pictures are from The Ruins! We went there last Monday with our district so of course that turned into Megs and I dying being able to spend time together. I regretedly don't know too much about the back story of this beautiful old building/mansion thing but you can google it if you're interested:) and then maybe email me and let me know too. haha But one cool thing was we had Sugar Cane Juice! Straight up juiced right there and it was sooo good. As in. Sugar cane is everyyyyyywheeeerrrre here!
So I got through my first transfer here!! I'm glad that my training (12 weeks) hasn't been split in half with two trainers. I love this area and I LOVE Sister Cruz!! I can't imagine being transferred right now! But half way through training! Woot woot! Okay so the sadest thing happened this week. Sister Manwaring and her comp were going to straight up move into our apt with us and live with us for a whole month or so! Like whaaaaa! I was dying from excitement.. Then 10 minutes before they were supposed to be here the Couple that was supposed to bring them called and said the their landlord finally fixed their water because he was afraid to lose rent from them and they'd unpack and stay in their area. :( SAD! But overall it's best because they'd have to pay soo much in plete (travel money)... even though it would have been the funnest thing ever. That's okay. I'm still holding out that Sister Manwaring and I will be companions someday:) She's already been here for almost a year! Sorry. So much about her... ehem. NEXT!
We had this AMAZING experience this week! One evening we were bunted really bad 4 people in a row and so we stopped, really sought for that inspiration on where we needed to go and decided to go to a different Purok to teach a less active family. That led to us OYM (Open Your Mouth) this amazing new investigator that said he has ALOT of questions for us! Can't wait to go back to him and follow up. And the other amazing part of it was running into a recent convert who was in tears because his mother had just passed away last night. Sister Cruz and I took the opportunity to share with him and he was so so appreciative and overwhelmed throughout the entire lesson. You could feel the spirit SO strong as we testified about the Plan of Salvation and read about resurrection from the scriptures. This recent convert has such a strong testimony and as he said the closing prayer he could barely speak. His name is Roldan and he's 24. His mom was sick and died in her sleep. (I guess that happens often here.. people just don't have the money for basic medicines). I was so humbled with the way Heavenly Father led us to Roldan and for the real way this gospel applies to people's lives to give comfort and hope. We have gone back nearly every day since to pray with him and share when it is a good time for him. I'm so grateful for this experience and will never forget it!!!
I GOT THE PACKAGE!!!! THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH!!! WOW I'm so out of time. :(((((( The package was the best thing ever and I love you all so so so so much! Thank you for your emails!!!!
